Mendenhall wins RWDCA 2024 Opener at Petaluma Speedway

The weather finally cooperated on Saturday, giving us clear skies and warm temps for the RWDCA season opener at Petaluma Speedway. The track was still very soft from all the recent rain though, which made it a Cowboy Up kind of night for the 18 drivers that made the call. Marty Weisler in the 46R took the early lead and built up some distance on the rest of the field, but a late caution bunched up the field creating opportunity. After the restart, it was Carroll Mendenhall who managed to sneak in a pass with only a few laps to go, and be first to Scott Erwin’s twin checkers. Congratulations Carroll! Rounding out the top five were Marty Weisler 46R, Gage Meyers 99n, Jace Badeker 7NR, and Mikey Williams 43R.
RWDCA will be back in action this Saturday 4/26 at Petaluma Speedway for points race #2. Pit gate opens at noon, hot laps at 4pm, and racing at 5pm. See you there!
