How do you sum up an event like a WSDCA National? You could start by talking about the highs, or the lows, the time, the money, the racing, the track, the volunteers, the staff, the sponsors, the local vendors, or a whole list of other things that happened or didn’t happen. There’s always something to talk about. We want to start this conversation though by saying THANK YOU. Two powerful little words that represent a mountain of gratitude, adoration, support, gratefulness, and so much more. We want to thank every single one of you that was a part of the National in any capacity.
Putting on a National is hard!! There are so many areas that require ownership and so many puzzle pieces that make it all work. There are literally dozens of people with RWDCA, WSDCA, Petaluma Speedway, Speed Union TV, many of the affiliate clubs, and bunches of volunteers in between that were the boots on the ground to pull off this event. Without all of you, there would have been no national, and you all are wonderful. Same time next year? Maybe? 😁. We sure hope so!!
Let’s also not forget the army of sponsors for an event like this too. Our sponsors made it possible to have live music, Thursday night dinner, bonus money in the payout, killer raffle items, driver buckets full of goodies for each driver, and so much more. We are eternally thankful!
Now, how about that racing, huh? You drivers absolutely KILLED IT! Friday, we saw all of you calculating and racing smart on a challenging and very technical track. It was a fun watch. Saturday though? Wow!
The Sportsmen got all 20 laps in with just a few cautions and we saw moments of greatness from every single one of them. Looking forward to seeing some of you in the Pro next year! Also a huge congratulations to Rick Rogers in the 16W on sweeping the weekend and winning both nights in style.
The Vets went green to checkered on Saturday in an absolute barn burner of a race that was just over 6 minutes! It was former champion Tom Morley in the 18E that took the checkered flags just 0.149 ahead of Carroll Mendenhall in the 31R. Watch the replay on that one! It was fantastic!
The Pros had an absolute list of track champions, Nationals champions, and big money winners in the field on Saturday. All of them brought their A game and there was epic door to door racing throughout the field, but it was a single car that set both quick time for the main and led every lap. Back from a long hiatus, and you’re going to want to watch the replay on this one too, we have to give a round of applause and huge congratulations to Camron Diatte in the 381XXX on winning the Saturday Night Pro A Main!
We also have to give a special thanks to the food crew for amazing dinners 3 nights in a row, the raffle crew for another killer raffle, our check-in/shirt crew for keeping it all in order, our wonderful tech crew, the on site photographers and videographers, and last but not least Petaluma Speedway and their fantastic team. You are the greatest!
And with that, we wrap up the 2025 Petaluma WSDCA National. Thank you again to all of the drivers, crews, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, staff members, and more that took time out of your busy lives and spent your hard earned money to come spend the weekend with us at our special little track in the middle of town. No other division in racing is family like the Dwarf cars are and although we are going through some growing pains, let’s put aside the hard feelings, and think about all of the friends that have become family, the camaraderie, and the great times we have together as a large group.
Thank you again, and we will see you at the next one!
